Just like in life, I can never 100% plan my painting. I can plan a direction of where it will go, a general idea of the feeling it will convey but I can never know 100% the outcome! Why? Unpredictability allows freedom of exploration from within. It follows the ebb and flow of my mental and emotional state that change and metamorphosizes (I think I just made up this word) as time progresses. Even if I know what the subject of the painting is, I can’t predict how I will convey the features and the emotional intensity in it, this is why I love painting so much. The freedom it allows me knows no bounds. It is how I process my life, challenges and the major turning points.
I have been known to always hit the ground running into any goal I set my mind to, some caution from the price you pay. I have always found the price to be worth the outcome in every decision I made, including embracing my art career full-time with all of its challenges and uncertainties.
